Marketing Unemployment and the Work from Home alternative

Wanting to shout while watching the telly!

It was a quiet night in during a break from pounding the keyboard I watched some TV with lizy my partner, the news was on....

BBC News 24 it was I think, a story on rising unemployment in the U.K and the interviewer had a young man in his early 20 twenties and a Man in his early 50 fifties my age group!

It is not a subject that always captures my attention normally having being there and done that! So to speak and I want to avoid it in the future... as much as is possible.

And redundancy is a fact of life now days no matter how much we may wish it were not.

I want control over my own income!

Life on the dole is not something I would recommend despite newspaper stories saying how easy it is for some? I have no comment on that.

What caught my attention was the older man said he was looking for a job in marketing and had applied for many jobs.... His applications were rejected due to a lack of experience! (No surprise there then!) We are in tough times no matter what some politicians would have us believe.

I wanted to shout... Find something to market! Market it and build a track record.....

Starting a home based marketing business online today is easy! If the guy is online to employment agencies all day... he presumably surfs and you would have to be incredibly lucky? to miss all the ads for home business opportunities...

Waiting for an employer to give you a chance and train you up... at their expense just isn't a viable alternative to diving in and finding your way round in Online Marketing!

And then going to an employer if you must from a position of strength and saying " I can achieve results like this for your company "

The younger guy was saying how there is a lack of variety at the job centre and how the advertised positions were those of employment agencies... Well I have a few strong opinions on employment agencies and their place in the great scheme of things... keeping the work force mobile... and flexible!... Again no comment on that.

Online marketing presents so many ways to try and achieve financial independence and freedom from job centers and careers and jobs with no security... it has to be an option worth considering... If your at home and have a computer... Well go for it! A limited budget is not a issue if you have time! for example how much is a hubpage a squidoo lens a facebook or twitter account the list goes on!

What an online business takes is a rethink of your way forward...

That doesn't work anymore what about this.... How hard can it be to learn that! Answer easier than you may think!

An online business is not a solution for everyone or a cure for today's economic woes but it is a positive course of action and training is out there online free...

Tools are out there online, Google has loads that anyone can use... And how to use them training is free

yahoo and msn ditto they too have free stuff

Good companies teach you how to promote their products... Taking action and doing what they suggest is more than 95% of people do! Being in the 5% or even less of action takers is the big secret!

Money is not a barrier if you pick the right business to get involved with to grow and learn... and build your way towards earning!

And the following quote is so true... "Winners take imperfect action while losers are still perfecting the plan."

Build experience by doing and then decide... Do I really need to work for someone else?

Do I really need a Job!

Finding the right business is the hard bit! But once you've sorted that out, It's anchors away and plain sailing ahead. ( I also watched Brunnel and his Iron ship! )

I skipped over the above bit about finding the right online business quickly... so heres a few pointers:

  • If it sounds to good to be true... Then it probably is!
  • Look for a track record,
  • Talk to people in the business and judge the feedback...
  • Is the product a good one,
  • Can you see a market
  • Would you use it.... in the market place it's aimed at?
  • What is the feed back about the opportunity.
  • Who is offering referrals to the company...
  • Are they known people with an Online pedigree people accountable findable and with good reputations.
  • Or the owners mates and fellow scammers?

All these points are relevant to due diligence (doing some homework) an essential aspect of picking the right home business which I personally found out about, the hard way!
